Chilewich Beam Woven Placemats

This dynamic design was originally a handloom, attempting to introduce variegated stripes within Chilewich’s signature Basketweave. Broad bands of color intersect with narrow accent stripes in an exploded plaid, forming an internal frame within each rectangular placemat.

The majority of the Chilewich collection is made from woven extruded vinyl yarns in the USA. In 2000 New York designer Sandy Chilewich introduced her first woven textiles to the international design community under the brand name “Chilewich.” Each year her collection grows through her tireless experimentation and passion for different manufacturing techniques.
