Description
Our edge-grain cutting boards are an affordable, lower-maintenance alternative to our end-grain boards. Each reversible 14” x 20” x 1 1/2” edge grain cutting board features a 12” ruler laser etched along the top edge and handy finger grooves.
If you order the long grain cutting board with a perimeter groove, it will be cut on the BOTTOM side since the top has a ruler engraved. If you order with both cutting board feet AND a perimeter groove, the groove will bump out at each corner, circumnavigating the installed feet.
We carefully join solid hardwood using a professional-grade, waterproof adhesive that is FDA-approved for indirect food contact (an extra step many makers skip because it is 3 times the cost of cheaper glues). Thanks to the precision of our joinery and the unusually large solid wood blocks we use; your knife almost exclusively contacts wood when you chop. We did the math, and the total amount of glue your knife could encounter (on both faces of the board) is roughly equivalent to the size of a single grain of table salt.
We finish every board by hand with food-safe oil and Board Butter—because real craftsmanship means choosing quality, proven, and safe materials and doing things the right way, not the fast way.
